Fomo App vs Pump.fun App: where coins launch, and where you trade them
Pump.fun is where most Solana memecoins are born, and its app is built around those coins. Fomo is where a lot of them get traded: the same pump.fun coins, plus every other launchpad and DEX on six chains, with the Solana gas paid and a feed that shows what the traders you follow actually bought. Here are the fees after Pump.fun's new 0.45% platform fee, the feed against callouts, chains and perps, and which app is better for the way you trade.

Is Fomo better than the Pump.fun app?
For trading, yes for most people. Fomo trades pump.fun coins too, along with every other launchpad on six chains, pays the Solana gas and shows the real trades of the people you follow. The Pump.fun app is the better pick if you want to launch a coin yourself, and it charges a little less on its own coins.
The launchpad, and the app that trades on top of it
Pump.fun changed how memecoins get made. Since 2024 making a Solana coin there has cost nothing but network fees: a ticker, a picture, a swipe, and the coin is live on a price curve that climbs with every buy. The few that attract enough buyers move on to PumpSwap, Pump.fun's own exchange. Across its products Pump has taken more than $2.3 billion in fees, by DefiLlama's count, and its app has added a social layer: callouts that push a coin to your followers, rewards for callers, chats and livestreams.
Fomo comes at the same coins from the other side. It is not a launchpad and does not want to be one. It is a trading app where pump.fun coins sit next to coins from every other launchpad and DEX, on Solana and five other chains, and the first screen shows the trades of people you follow rather than a list of new launches. In the 30 days to October 20, DefiLlama counted $3.3 billion of volume on Fomo and $535 million on the Pump.fun mobile app.
The difference that matters most to a trader is what you are looking at when you buy. A callout tells you someone wants you to look at a coin, and until October Pump.fun paid callers by the volume they drove; it has since rewritten the rules twice to reward follower profits instead. Fomo's feed shows the position itself: the entry, the size and how it is doing, from traders whose record you can check.
To be fair to Pump.fun: on its own coins its app now charges a 0.45% Platform Fee, a little under Fomo's 0.50%, and much less than Fomo's small-trade bands. If you only ever trade fresh pump.fun launches in small sizes, that adds up. This site is an independent Fomo guide and earns a referral when you sign up with referral code GEMQUEENX; every Pump.fun figure here is taken from Pump.fun's own fees page.
What does a pump.fun coin cost on Fomo vs the Pump.fun app?
Every pump.fun trade pays the pool first, whichever app you use: 1.25% on the bonding curve, split between the coin's creator and Pump.fun, and 1.25% falling in steps to 0.30% on PumpSwap as a coin grows. On a $1,000 curve buy that is $12.50 on both apps. Each app then adds its own fee on top.
| Buy | Pool fee (both, curve) | Fomo adds | Pump.fun app adds | Pump.fun with a code |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $20 | $0.25 | $0.40 | $0.09 | $0.08 |
| $50 | $0.63 | $0.95 | $0.23 | $0.20 |
| $100 | $1.25 | $0.95 | $0.45 | $0.40 |
| $250 | $3.13 | $1.25 ($1.13 with GEMQUEENX) | $1.13 | $1.00 |
| $1,000 | $12.50 | $5.00 ($4.50 with GEMQUEENX) | $4.50 | $4.00 |
So on pump.fun's own coins the app's fee is lower, by 50 cents on a $1,000 buy and by more on small ones, where Fomo's bands apply. Two things narrow that. Pump.fun's fee page says plainly that its fees do not include the Solana network fee, which you pay on every trade there; Fomo pays it, along with the rent Solana locks the first time a wallet buys a coin. And the pool fee, the biggest line in every row, is the same on both. The last column assumes a referral code is applied to your Pump.fun wallet; this Pump.fun referral code guide shows where it goes.
Outside pump.fun's own coins the comparison changes shape. Fomo trades coins from any launchpad or DEX on Solana and five more chains from one balance, and the majors, BTC, ETH, SOL and the rest of its Crypto tab, cost 0.05%. On perps Fomo adds 0.05% per side with no bridge, where Pump.fun charges up to 0.10% per order plus up to 0.25% each time money moves to or from Hyperliquid. Every Fomo fee is on the Fomo app fees page.
Fomo's trader feed vs Pump.fun callouts
Both apps are social now, in different ways. On Pump.fun, a callout pushes a coin to everyone who follows you, and since August 2026 callers are paid in USDC from a rewards budget. Volume-based payouts brought spam, so in October Pump.fun cut returns for heavy posters and tied rewards to whether followers actually make money. Its co-founder has warned users that impersonators of well-known callers are common.
On Fomo, the feed is the trades. When a trader you follow buys, you see the coin, the entry, the size and the running PnL, often with a short thesis, as the clip shows, and one tap copies it at your own size. Traders are rewarded when a thesis plays out, so the incentive is to be right rather than loud. The Fomo copy trading guide covers how to pick traders worth following.
One balance on six chains, or one chain with a bridge
Fomo runs Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain from a single USD balance, as the clip shows. A Base coin bought with money that arrived on Solana is one tap, with nothing to bridge and no gas coin to top up on any chain.
Pump.fun is a Solana launchpad first. Its app reaches EVM chains such as Robinhood Chain through a third-party bridge and swap provider, and those trades cost an extra 0.10% to 0.15% on top of the Platform Fee and the provider's own charges, with Pump.fun paying the EVM gas. The chain guides go deeper: Fomo Solana, Fomo Base and Fomo Robinhood Chain.
Perps on Fomo vs perps on Pump.fun
Both apps send perpetual futures to Hyperliquid. Fomo goes further and adds trade.xyz, so the list runs past crypto.
| Fomo | Pump.fun app | |
|---|---|---|
| Markets | Crypto on Hyperliquid; US stocks, SpaceX, indices, gold and oil on trade.xyz | Hyperliquid perps |
| App fee per order | 0.05% per side, 0.045% with referral code | Builder fee of up to 0.10% |
| Moving money in | Same USD balance as spot, no bridge | Bridge to Hyperliquid, up to 0.25% each way plus the operator's fee |
| Exits | Take profit, stop loss, limit close | Orders through the app |
| US persons | Not available | Check Pump.fun's terms |
On a $1,000 position opened and closed, Fomo's fee is $1.00, or $0.90 with the code. Pump.fun's builder fee can reach $2.00 before the bridge takes its share twice. The Fomo perps page covers leverage caps and markets.
The risks on Pump.fun coins, whichever app you use
The coins are the same coins on both apps, and so are the dangers. Most pump.fun launches never leave the bonding curve, and many of the ones that do fade within days. Some launch in Mayhem Mode, where a Pump.fun AI agent trades the coin for its first 24 hours, which makes early volume and holder numbers harder to read. Callouts can come from impersonators, and paid incentives make some of them louder than they are useful.
What Fomo adds is context before the click: whether traders you follow are in the coin, what they paid and how they have done before. A strong holder list is still no guarantee. Size every pump.fun buy as if it can go to zero, and read is Fomo legit for what we checked about the company behind the app.
Fomo or the Pump.fun app: which one should you use?
Launching and trading are different jobs. Most people only do one of them.
Pick Fomo if

Pick Pump.fun if
You want to launch a coin, stream it or earn creator fees. You only trade fresh pump.fun launches and want the lowest app fee on them. You want spot limit orders today.
Use both if
You launch or snipe on Pump.fun and do the rest of your trading on Fomo: coins that already have holders you can check, other chains, the majors and perps.
