Fomo App Limit Order and Stop Loss: not here yet
The Fomo app does not have limit orders or a stop loss for spot trades yet. Every buy and sell of a memecoin or token is a market order, filled at the price of the moment you tap. The Fomo team is working on both, with no release date so far. Perps are the exception: take profit, stop loss and limit close orders already work there. This page explains what a limit order and a stop loss are, what Fomo offers today, and how to protect a trade until they arrive.

Does Fomo have limit orders and stop loss?
Not for spot trades yet. Every memecoin buy and sell on Fomo is a market order filled when you tap, and the Fomo team is working on limit orders and stop losses with no date announced. Perps already have take profit, stop loss and limit close orders.
The button Fomo users ask for most
Read the recent App Store reviews of Fomo and one request keeps coming back: let me set a stop loss. People love how fast a buy is, the Apple Pay deposits and the feed of traders. Then they buy a coin that doubles while they are asleep and gives it all back before breakfast, and they want the app to have sold for them.
Today it cannot, on spot. Fomo was built around a tap: you see a trade in the feed, you take it, and Fomo picks the route and pays the gas. Every order is a market order. That keeps the app simple and the fills quick, and it leaves the exit entirely to you. The only resting orders in the app are on perps, where a take profit, a stop loss and, since August, a limit close can sit on a position and fire without you.
The Fomo team is working on limit orders and stop losses for spot. There is no date yet, and we would rather say that than guess one. When they arrive, you will be able to set the price you want to buy at, the price where you take profit and the price where you admit you were wrong, and stop watching the chart in between.
Until then, the honest advice is old-fashioned. Size every memecoin position as if it can go to zero, because most do. Decide the exit before you buy, write it in the thesis Fomo lets you attach to a trade, and sell in pieces on the way up. That is a stop loss you run by hand. It is slower, and it works.
What is a limit order?
A limit order tells the app the price you want, or better, and then sits and waits for the market to come to it. A buy limit sits below the current price: a coin trades at $100, you think it will dip, you set a buy at $85, and the order fills only if the price comes down to $85. A sell limit sits above: you hold a coin at $100 and set a sell at $115 to lock in the gain if it gets there.
The difference from a market order, which is all Fomo spot has today, is control over price instead of speed. A market buy fills now at whatever the pool gives. A limit buy may never fill at all if the price never comes back. On chain, a limit order is usually a service watching the price and sending your swap the moment it touches your level, so on a fast memecoin the fill can land a little off the line.
What is a stop loss, and a take profit?
A stop loss is an exit set below your entry. If you bought at $85 and set a stop at $74, the position sells when the price falls to $74, so a bad trade costs you about 13% instead of whatever the coin does next. A take profit is the same idea above the entry: sell at $115 and bank about 35% without having to be awake when it happens. The chart above runs both cases.
On memecoins a stop loss has one weakness worth knowing before you rely on it. Once it triggers it usually becomes a market sell, and a market sell takes the next price the pool offers. In an ordinary drop that is close to your level. In a rug pull or a liquidity drain the next price can be far lower, so the stop limits the damage in most moves and not in the worst ones. A trailing stop, which follows the price up and keeps the same distance below it, is a third variant; Fomo does not have one on any market yet.
What Fomo offers today: spot vs perps
On spot, the order ticket has one mode. You pick the amount, Fomo quotes the price and the fee, and the trade fills on tap with the network costs on Solana paid by Fomo. There is no price field, no trigger and nothing that waits in the background.
On perps, positions run on Hyperliquid and trade.xyz and come with exits. Take profit and stop loss are lines you drag on the chart, and since August 23, 2026 a position can carry a limit close that exits at the price you name, as the clip shows. Perps are not available to US persons. The Fomo perps page covers the markets and fees.
Order types on Fomo and on trading terminals
If resting orders on memecoins are a must today, a terminal has them, at a price. Here is how Fomo compares with the two biggest ones.
| Fomo, spot | Fomo, perps | Axiom | GMGN | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Market orders | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Limit buy | In the works | Market entries | Yes | Yes |
| Take profit | In the works | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Stop loss | In the works | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Limit close | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Trailing stop | No | No | Not in its docs | Yes |
| Spot fee | 0.50% from $190, gas paid on Solana | 0.05% per side plus venue fee | 1% plus your network fees | 1% plus your network fees |
The trade-off is cost and simplicity against control. The comparisons go into detail: Fomo vs Axiom Trade and Fomo vs GMGN, where the custody difference matters as much as the order types.
How to protect a Fomo trade without a stop loss
Four habits do most of a stop loss's work by hand. Fomo already gives you one tool for them: every position can carry a thesis, a short note shown with the trade, as in the clip. Use it for your exit plan.
Size it as if it goes to zero Safety
Put in only what you could lose entirely. On memecoins the position size is the real stop loss.
Write the exit before the entry 1 min
Decide the price where you are wrong and the price where you take profit, and put both in the thesis.
Take profit in pieces
Sell a third at your first target and another third at the next. A coin that doubles and falls back still leaves you ahead.
Check on a schedule
Look at open positions at set times and act on what you wrote, not on how the chart feels at that moment.
When will Fomo add limit orders and stop loss?
There is no date. The Fomo team is working on limit orders and stop losses for spot, and we will update this page the day they ship. Fomo usually announces new features on its X account and in the app's update notes, and it shipped perps in June 2026 and limit close orders in August, so the order system is already being built out on the perps side.
Two cautions while you wait. Nobody outside Fomo can sell you early access, a "Fomo stop loss bot" or a plugin that adds the feature; anything that asks for your login or private key to do so is a scam, as the Fomo Telegram bot page explains. And if you sign up in the meantime, use referral code GEMQUEENX, which takes 10% off the standard fee for the life of the account. The Fomo copy trading guide covers the rest of the app.
Fomo limit order and stop loss questions
Does the Fomo app have limit orders?
Not for spot trades yet. Every memecoin or token buy and sell on Fomo is a market order filled when you tap. The Fomo team is working on limit orders, with no release date announced. Perps are different: a perp position can carry a limit close order that exits at a price you set.
Does Fomo have a stop loss?
Only on perps for now. On a perp position you can drag a take profit and a stop loss line on the chart and the position closes when price reaches either one. Spot trades have no stop loss yet; the team is working on it.
When will Fomo add limit orders and stop loss?
Fomo has not given a date. The team is working on them, and stop loss and take profit are among the features users ask for most in App Store reviews. We will update this page when they ship; Fomo usually announces new features on its X account first.
What is the difference between a limit order and a stop loss?
A limit order names your price, or better, and does nothing until the market reaches it. A stop loss is an exit that fires when the price falls to a level you set, to cap the loss on a position. A take profit is the same idea in the other direction, selling when the price rises to your target.
Can a stop loss fail on a memecoin?
It can fill far below where you set it. A stop loss on a memecoin usually becomes a market sell once it triggers, so in a crash or a rug pull it sells at the next price the pool gives, which can be much lower. It limits the damage in most moves and not in the worst ones.
How do I protect a Fomo trade without a stop loss?
Size the position so that losing all of it is acceptable, decide the exit price before you buy and write it in the trade's thesis, sell part of a winner on the way up, and check open positions on a schedule. On perps, attach a stop loss to every position.
Which apps have limit orders for memecoins?
Trading terminals such as Axiom and GMGN offer spot limit orders, take profit and stop loss today, at about twice Fomo's fee plus your own network costs. GMGN also keeps the keys to its wallet. Our comparisons cover both.
