Fomo App vs GMGN: the feed or the bot

GMGN and Fomo both help you trade what other people are buying, and they go about it in opposite ways. GMGN is a trading terminal and set of Telegram bots that copies wallets for you automatically, snipes launches and holds your keys. Fomo is a phone app with a feed of named traders, one-tap copy trading, half the fee and a wallet you can take with you. Below are the fees at seven trade sizes, how the two compare on copy trading, custody and chains, and which one is better for how you trade.

Is GMGN better than Fomo?

If you want a bot, yes. GMGN copies wallets automatically, snipes launches and X posts, and trades ten-plus chains from the web or Telegram. Fomo is cheaper on most Solana trades, charges 0.05% on the majors, lets you export your private key and shows you named traders with their reasons, which GMGN does not.

Two ways to trade behind someone else

Fomo vs GMGN: Fomo charges 0.50% with Solana gas paid and lets you export your key; GMGN charges 1% plus your gas and does not allow private key export

Both apps are built on the same hunch: the fastest way to find a memecoin is to watch who is buying it. GMGN turns that into machinery. You give it a wallet address, tell it how much to spend and when to sell, and it trades for you, all night if you let it. Fomo turns it into a feed. The people you follow have names, records and a line about why they bought, and nothing happens until you tap.

The money says both ideas work. In the 30 days to October 7, DefiLlama counted $4.4 billion of volume on GMGN and $5.5 billion on Fomo. GMGN still took more in fees, $35.0 million to Fomo's $29.3 million, because it charges 1% a trade where Fomo charges half that. GMGN has been at it longer, too: more than $338 million in fees all time.

The price of GMGN's automation is custody. A bot can only trade while you sleep if it can sign without you, so GMGN keeps the keys to the wallet it creates, and its docs rule out handing that key to you, whichever chain it is on and even if the wallet was yours to begin with. Taking money out means the website, an authenticator code and an address you approved in advance. That design has blocked some thefts and it has not blocked all of them: in October 2025 a phishing site hijacked sessions of about 107 GMGN users, and GMGN repaid them in full within two days.

Our view: if hands-off copy trading or sniping is the whole point, GMGN does things Fomo will not, and you should go in knowing whose keys they are. If you want to read a trade before you take it, pay less per trade and keep a wallet you can walk away with, Fomo is the better home. This site is an independent Fomo guide and earns a referral when you sign up with referral code GEMQUEENX; the GMGN details come from GMGN's own docs.

Fees

Is Fomo cheaper than GMGN?

On most trades. GMGN's docs put it plainly: a 1% fee on every trade and nothing else from GMGN, with the network costs on top and paid by you: gas, a priority fee to validators and a tip for its private nodes. GMGN suggests 0.002 to 0.005 SOL in total for an ordinary trade, about 23 to 57 cents with SOL at $114. Fomo charges 0.50% from $190 up and pays the Solana network costs itself, but prices smaller orders in bands: 10 cents under $5, 2% up to $47.50 and a flat 95 cents up to $190.

What one Solana buy costs on Fomo and GMGN, network fees included
Solana buyFomoFomo + GEMQUEENXGMGNCheaper
$10$0.20$0.20$0.33Fomo
$20$0.40$0.40$0.43Fomo
$40$0.80$0.80$0.63GMGN
$60$0.95$0.95$0.83GMGN

$250$1.25$1.13$2.73Fomo
$1,000$5.00$4.50$10.23Fomo

So Fomo is cheaper under about $23 and over about $72, and GMGN is cheaper in between. Those GMGN figures use the bottom of its own fee guidance. Turn on its anti-MEV mode, which needs a priority fee of at least 0.002 SOL plus a tip, or run limit and auto orders, where it suggests 0.006 SOL or more, and the crossover moves in Fomo's favour. Selling pays the same again on both apps.

Fee duel Slide to your trade size
Fomo$0.95
GMGN$1.23

At $100, Fomo is cheaper by $0.28 a buy.

GMGN at 1% plus 0.002 SOL of network fees, the low end of its own suggestion, with SOL at $114 on October 8, 2026. Fomo does not say whether the 10% discount applies to its Solana bands, so the code only changes Fomo's figure from $190 up.

Off Solana and on the majors the gap widens. Fomo charges 0.05% on BTC, ETH, SOL and the rest of its Crypto tab, a twentieth of GMGN's 1%, and 0.50% plus the network fee on its other chains, where GMGN charges 1% plus gas in each chain's own coin. Every Fomo fee is on the Fomo app fees page.

Custody

Who holds the keys: Fomo or GMGN?

This is the row that matters most and gets read least. When you log in to GMGN with Telegram, it creates wallets for you on Solana, the EVM chains and Tron, and its docs are explicit that, for safety, none of those keys will ever be shown to you, and a wallet you bring in by importing a key is locked in the same way. To take money out you bind Google Authenticator, add the address to a whitelist on the GMGN website and wait: three hours after you set or change the whitelist, a full day after you reset the authenticator. The Telegram bots cannot withdraw at all.

Fomo's wallet is self-custodial through Privy. The key is split between your device and FOMO Labs, it only comes together to sign a trade you started, and you can export the full private key to Phantom or MetaMask from Settings, Account whenever you like. Withdrawals happen in the app. The Fomo wallet guide shows the export. You can also skip GMGN's wallet and connect your own, such as Phantom, but then you trade by hand and lose the automation that is the reason to use it.

Copy trading

Fomo copy trading vs GMGN copy trade

GMGN's copy trade runs without you. You pick up to ten Solana wallets and a buy size, either fixed or matched up to a ceiling, then decide the exit: mirror their sells, hold until you sell by hand, or close at a profit or loss target. You can also skip coins below a market cap or pool size, coins too new or too old, and up to 20 tokens you never want to touch. Its lightning mode copies about two seconds faster by acting on unconfirmed data, which GMGN warns can occasionally execute a trade the wallet never made.

Fomo copies people, not addresses. Each trade in the feed comes with the trader's record and often a thesis, and since August 2026 traders are rewarded when a thesis plays out, as the clip shows. You tap to copy at your own size, so a wallet that dumps on its followers cannot drag you along while you sleep. You are slower than a bot. The Fomo copy trading guide covers the trade-off.

Trader Rewards: paid for a thesis that plays out
Automation

Does Fomo have a sniper or limit orders like GMGN?

No, and GMGN has a whole toolbox of them. SnipeX watches X accounts you choose and buys the moment one posts a contract address. Migration snipe buys a coin as it graduates to a DEX, migration sell and dev-sell exits sell when the curve completes or the creator dumps, and limit orders, take-profit, stop-loss and trailing versions of both run on their own. Anti-MEV modes, private nodes and a custom RPC decide how your order lands.

Fomo has none of that on spot. It sets and pays the priority fee, you tap buy, and that is the end of your involvement; the only resting orders are limit closes on perps. On a coin that has traded for an hour this rarely costs you much. On a launch decided in the first block, or a strategy that needs exits while you sleep, GMGN or a terminal like Axiom is the right tool, and the Fomo vs Axiom Trade comparison covers the terminal option.

Phone

Fomo app vs GMGN app and Telegram bots

GMGN lives on the website and in Telegram, with a bot for each chain, and points phone users to gmgn.ai/app. Its App Store listing describes discovery, wallet tracking and alerts. App Store search also turns up an app called GMGN AI from an unrelated developer, which is a reminder to check who made an app before you sign in to it.

Fomo is a phone app first: 4.8 stars from 15.6K ratings on the Fomo iPhone app, 500K+ installs on the Fomo Android app, and charts rebuilt for the phone in August 2026, as the clip shows. The same account opens at fomo.family on a computer. There is no official Fomo Telegram bot, and the Fomo Telegram bot page explains why that matters.

Which chains do Fomo and GMGN support?

GMGN covers every chain Fomo does and several more.

ChainFomoGMGN
SolanaYes, gas paidYes
BaseYesYes
BNB ChainYesYes
EthereumYesYes
MonadYesYes
Robinhood ChainYesYes
TronNoYes
HyperEVMNoYes
MegaETH, X LayerNoYes

The difference is in how money moves. Fomo runs all six chains from one USD balance, so there is nothing to bridge and no gas coin to keep topped up. On GMGN each chain has its own wallet and you deposit that chain's coin, SOL, ETH, BNB or TRX, to pay for gas. On perps, Fomo routes to Hyperliquid and trade.xyz with markets from bitcoin to SpaceX and gold; GMGN opened a perps public beta in September 2026 with BTC, ETH, SOL and ZEC. More on Fomo perps.

Safety

Is GMGN safe compared with Fomo?

Both are large and established, and both are targets. GMGN's docs spend a lot of space on scams: fake admins who message first, fake Telegram bots and translator plugins, clipboard-reading malware. Its October 2025 incident came through a fake token site that hijacked logged-in sessions; about 107 users lost funds and GMGN repaid them in full. The structural point is custody. When GMGN holds the keys, GMGN's security is your security, and you cannot move the wallet elsewhere.

Fomo's risks are the ones every self-custodial app shares: lookalike sites, fake support and your own devices. Fomo cannot move your funds, and you can export the key. See is Fomo legit for what we checked about FOMO Labs.

On both apps: nobody from Fomo or GMGN will message you first, and no real support agent asks for a key, a login code or an authenticator code. Most memecoins on either app go to zero, so size every trade, and every copy task, as if it will.
Verdict

Fomo or GMGN: which one should you use?

Decide how much of the trading you want to hand over, then pick.

Pick Fomo if

You want to read a trade before you take it. Your Solana buys are usually over about $70, or you buy BTC and SOL. You want a wallet you can export and withdrawals without a waiting period. You trade from your phone.

Pick GMGN if

You want a bot that copies wallets while you sleep, sniping on X posts and migrations, or trailing stops. You trade Tron, HyperEVM or MegaETH. You accept that GMGN holds the keys to its wallet.

Use both if

You run a few GMGN copy tasks with money you can afford to lose and do your own picks on Fomo. Keep most of the balance in the wallet you can export.

Switch

How to move funds from GMGN to Fomo

Since GMGN will not give you the key, leaving means a withdrawal, and GMGN's security holds make it a job for an afternoon rather than a minute.

  1. Open Fomo with a referral code 10% off

Install Fomo or open fomo.family and type referral code GEMQUEENX in the referral field. Missed it? Support can add it later; see the Fomo app referral code page.

  2. Copy your Fomo Solana address 1 min

In Fomo open Profile, Settings, Account and copy the Solana address. Crypto deposits into Fomo are free.

  3. Whitelist it on the GMGN website 3-hour hold

On gmgn.ai bind Google Authenticator if you have not, then add the Fomo address to the withdrawal whitelist. GMGN blocks withdrawals for three hours after the whitelist changes.

  4. Withdraw a test amount, then the rest Safety

Send a little SOL first and check it lands in Fomo. GMGN keeps a small balance in each wallet for rent and gas, so the Max button will not empty it completely.

FAQ

Fomo vs GMGN questions

Is GMGN better than Fomo?

If you want automation, yes. GMGN copies wallets automatically, buys when an X account posts a contract address, snipes migrations and trades ten-plus chains from the web or Telegram. Fomo is cheaper on most Solana trades, charges 0.05% on BTC, ETH and SOL, lets you export your private key and shows a feed of named traders with their reasons.

Is Fomo cheaper than GMGN?

On most trades. GMGN charges 1% plus the network fees you set, about 23 cents a trade at the low end of its own guidance. Fomo charges 0.50% from $190 up with the Solana gas paid. Between roughly $23 and $72 GMGN is cheaper, because Fomo charges 2% or a flat 95 cents on small orders; under and over that range Fomo wins.

Can you export a GMGN wallet's private key?

No. The wallet GMGN creates for you never hands over its private key, on Solana, the EVM chains or Tron, and a key you import into GMGN stays locked there too. Money leaves only from the GMGN website, after you set up an authenticator app and approve the destination address. On Fomo you can export your private key from Settings, Account at any time.

Does Fomo have automatic copy trading like GMGN?

No. Fomo copy trading is one tap from a feed of named traders, and nothing buys while you are away. GMGN copies up to ten Solana wallets automatically and can be told when to stop buying and when to cash out.

Does GMGN have a phone app?

GMGN offers apps through gmgn.ai/app and runs trading bots on Telegram. Its App Store listing focuses on discovery, wallet tracking and alerts. Search results also show apps with GMGN in the name from unrelated developers, so check the developer before installing anything.

Which chains do Fomo and GMGN support?

Both trade Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Monad and Robinhood Chain. GMGN adds Tron, HyperEVM, MegaETH, X Layer and others. Fomo runs its six from one USD balance; on GMGN you hold each chain's own coin for gas.
