Self-custody

Fomo Wallet: your keys, no seed phrase

The Fomo wallet is self-custodial: the app creates it at sign-up, the private key is split between your phone and Fomo, and nobody at Fomo can move your money. There is no seed phrase to write down, but there is a private key you can export, and this page is mostly about that key. Where your wallet address is, how to export the key, how to import it into Phantom or MetaMask, why you never hand it to anyone, and where to keep it. Sign up with referral code GEMQUEENX and every trade from that wallet costs 10% less.

What is the Fomo wallet?

The Fomo wallet is the self-custodial wallet the Fomo app creates for you at sign-up: the private key is split between your device and Fomo, so Fomo cannot spend your funds, and you never handle a seed phrase. You can find your address under Settings, export the private key at any time, and import that key into Phantom or MetaMask to open the same wallet elsewhere.

The wallet you never see, and the key you should write down anyway

Fomo wallet: self-custodial with no seed phrase, a Solana key and an EVM key on export, one address for five EVM chains

Most people use Fomo for months without thinking of it as a wallet. There is no seed phrase ceremony at sign-up, no extension, no network dropdown. You log in with an email and there is a balance. Underneath, the app is a self-custodial wallet built on Privy: a private key generated on your device, split into shares with Shamir secret sharing, one share on the phone and one with Fomo, reassembled only inside secure hardware for the moment it takes to sign a trade. Fomo cannot move your funds, cannot freeze them, and cannot recover them.

That last clause is the one to sit with. The convenience of no seed phrase comes from your login being the recovery, and a login is only as durable as the email and the Apple or Google account behind it. Lose both and the wallet is gone, unless you exported the key. The export lives under Settings, Account, Export, behind Face ID if you turned it on, and it gives you two keys: a Solana key and an EVM key that covers Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain.

Import runs one way. You cannot bring an old wallet into Fomo; every account gets a fresh one. You can take the Fomo wallet out: paste the Solana key into Phantom or the EVM key into MetaMask and you are looking at the same address with the same tokens, which is how you sell something Fomo does not list or recover the account after a lockout. It is not a new wallet, and Fomo keeps working alongside it.

So export the key once, the day you open the account, before the first deposit. Write it on paper, two copies, two places. Never a screenshot, never a note, never a chat, and never to anyone who asks, because nobody at Fomo ever will. Then sign up with referral code GEMQUEENX, and the wallet you never see costs 10% less to use for as long as it exists.

How it works

How the Fomo wallet keeps your keys

Fomo is a wallet first and a trading app second. The design borrows the good part of an exchange, logging in with an email, without the bad part, the exchange holding your money.

The key is split, not stored

At sign-up Privy generates a private key and splits it into shares with Shamir secret sharing. One share sits on your device, one with Fomo. Neither half does anything alone, and Fomo's own help centre says it cannot reconstruct the key.

Signing happens in secure hardware

When you tap Buy, the shares meet inside a trusted execution environment, sign the transaction, and fall apart again. The full key is never written to disk on either side.

No seed phrase, by design

Your login is the recovery: an email code, Apple or Google. That removes the photo-of-a-seed-phrase failure that empties most beginner wallets. It also means the login is the thing to protect with two-factor.

Face ID on the doors that matter

Since the February 2026 update you can require Face ID or fingerprint to open the app, withdraw and export the key. It is off by default. Turn it on under Settings, Security, before the first deposit.

Fomo cannot touch the funds

The upside of self-custody: no freeze, no withdrawal review, no "contact support to unlock". The downside is the same sentence read backwards. Nobody at Fomo can reverse a transaction or restore a lost key.

Exportable, any time

Unlike an exchange account, the wallet is yours to take. Export the key and it opens in Phantom or MetaMask as the same wallet. Fomo keeps working alongside; nothing is locked in.

Wallet address

Where to find your Fomo wallet address

The app hides the address well enough that "fomo wallet address" is one of the more searched questions about it. It is under Profile, Settings, Account. Scroll past the display name and the description and the addresses are listed there. Tap one and it copies. You need it for two things: sending crypto in from another wallet or exchange, and looking up your own trades on a block explorer.

AddressUsed onFormatDeposit with
Solana addressSolanaBase58, 32 to 44 charactersUSDC or SOL on the Solana network
EVM addressBase, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum, Robinhood Chain0x plus 40 hex charactersUSDC on the matching network; USDG on Robinhood Chain

One EVM address covers five chains, which is convenient and also the trap. The address is the same on Base and on Ethereum, but a token sent on the wrong network lands in a place the app does not show. Pick the network in the sending wallet to match the network you fund in Fomo, and send a small amount first the first time. The fees page lists which deposit routes are free and which carry network cost.

About "Fomo wallet finder" tools: a few sites offer to reveal the on-chain address behind any Fomo trader. They work by matching balances against block explorers. You do not need one for your own wallet, and pasting your Fomo login into any of them is a bad idea.
Export

How to export your private key from Fomo

Do this once, the day you open the account, before the first deposit. The export is the only backup that survives losing your email and your Apple or Google login. It takes five minutes and most of that is writing.

  1. Turn on Face ID or fingerprint first Settings, Security

Once it is on, the export asks for it. That is the difference between a stolen unlocked phone and a stolen wallet.

  2. Open Settings, Account, Export

The app shows a warning before anything else. It is short and it is right: anyone with the key controls every token in the wallet, and Fomo will never ask for it. Accept it.

  3. Slide to export, confirm with Face ID

Slide the control to the right and pass the biometric check. Privy assembles the key on a separate origin and hands it to you. From here on it is unencrypted and in your hands.

  4. Copy the key you need Two keys

A Solana key and an EVM key. The Solana key opens the Solana wallet; the EVM key opens the same wallet on Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain. On Fomo Web the keys are listed per network instead.

  5. Write it down, then clear the clipboard Safety

Paper or a metal plate, both keys, two copies in two places. Then copy something harmless so the key is no longer on the clipboard, and never take the screenshot.

The export can be repeated whenever you want; it does not rotate or change the key. If you want a fresh key after a scare, the only route is a new Fomo account with a new wallet and a transfer.

Import

How to import your Fomo wallet into Phantom, MetaMask or another app

Import goes one direction. You cannot bring an existing wallet into Fomo; the help centre says so directly, and every account gets a new wallet at sign-up. You can take the Fomo wallet out. Import the exported key into another self-custodial app and you are looking at the same address with the same tokens, which is how you sell a token Fomo does not list, use a DeFi protocol, or recover the wallet if the login is gone.

Which keyOpens the wallet onApps that import itWhere the import lives
Solana keySolanaPhantom, Backpack, SolflarePhantom: Settings, Manage accounts, Add account, Import private key
EVM keyBase, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum, Robinhood ChainMetaMask, Rabby, PhantomMetaMask: account menu, Add account or hardware wallet, Import account

Three things to know before you paste. The imported account in MetaMask shows Ethereum by default; add Base or BNB Chain as a network and the same balance appears there. The Fomo app keeps working after the import, and trades made in either app show in both, because it is one wallet. And the key is now stored inside a second app on that device, so a browser extension with a bad update or a phone full of sideloaded APKs has become your problem too. Import onto a device you trust, or import, move the funds, and remove the account afterwards.

Fomo Web users: the desktop version lists one key per network rather than one EVM key. Copy the key for the network you want to open; for the EVM chains they unlock the same address.
Sending and withdrawing

Sending tokens from the Fomo wallet

Most transfers never need the key. Cash, meaning USDC, leaves through the app: tap the three dots next to the Cash balance, choose Withdraw, then Crypto wallet, enter the amount, pick the network, paste the receiving address and confirm. Six networks are available, and on Robinhood Chain the dollar token is USDG rather than USDC. Fomo shows the network cost before you confirm; on Solana it is a fraction of a cent.

Sending a token to another Fomo user is the feature in the clip: pick a friend, pick a token, add a note, and it arrives in their wallet with the message. What the app does not do is withdraw a random meme coin to an outside address. For that you export the key, open the wallet in Phantom or MetaMask, and send from there. The copy trading page covers the feed side of the same social layer.

Sending Solana tokens to a friend
Never share it

Why you never give your Fomo private key to anyone

Every Fomo wallet that gets drained goes one of three ways, and Fomo's help centre lists them: a key stored on a compromised device, a key shared with someone, or a signature on a phishing site. None of the three can be undone.

Fomo will never ask

Not support, not a "verification team", not a giveaway. The help centre's line is that anyone who asks for your private key is a scammer. Support cannot even see it.

The key is the wallet

There is no second factor on-chain. Whoever types the key into Phantom is you, with your balance, and the transfer out confirms in seconds.

"Connect wallet" is the tell

The real app never asks you to connect an outside wallet or paste a key to claim, verify or unlock anything. The fomoo.family clone that ran a drainer this year asked for exactly that.

Bots and "AI traders"

Any Telegram bot that wants your key to "trade for you" now owns the wallet. Fomo has no bot and no API key; the Telegram bot page goes through the fakes.

Screenshots travel

A screenshot syncs to iCloud or Google Photos, lands in a backup, and shows up in the next phone's photo search for "key". Same for a note, an email to yourself, or a message in a chat.

Nothing reverses

Once a transaction is confirmed on the chain, nobody at Fomo, Privy or the chain can undo it. If the key leaks, stop depositing and move what is left to a new wallet.

Safe storage

Where to keep your Fomo private key

The key is a long string of letters and numbers, 88 characters for Solana and 64 for EVM. It has to survive two things: you losing it, and someone else finding it. Those pull in opposite directions, which is why the answer is two offline copies rather than one clever one.

WhereVerdictWhy
Paper, written by hand, two copies in two placesBestNothing to hack. Fire, water and a house move are the risks, hence two copies. Check the characters twice; a 0 and an O look alike.
Metal plate or stamped cardBest, for larger balancesSurvives fire and water. Overkill for a few hundred dollars, sensible above that.
Password manager with two-factorAcceptableEncrypted, backed up, and Fomo's own blog suggests it. It is still a device that can be phished. Keep it as the second copy, not the only one.
Notes app, screenshot, camera rollNoSynced to the cloud, indexed by search, present in every backup and on every device you sign into.
Email, chat, cloud driveNoOne compromised account, and there are millions, exposes the key with a search for "key".
The clipboardClear itAny app you open next can read it. Copy something else after you have written the key down.

One more habit that costs nothing: after the export, check the address. Open the Solana key in a fresh Phantom account on a device you trust, confirm the address matches the one under Settings, Account, then remove that account. Now you know the backup works without having moved a dollar. The legit and safe page covers the rest of the security model, and the login page explains what the email and Apple or Google login can and cannot recover.

FAQ

Fomo wallet questions

What is the Fomo wallet?

The Fomo wallet is the self-custodial wallet the app creates for you at sign-up, through the embedded wallet provider Privy. There is no seed phrase: the private key is split into shares between your device and Fomo with Shamir secret sharing and only reassembled inside secure hardware when you sign a trade. Fomo cannot move, freeze or recover your funds; you can export the full key whenever you like.

Where is my Fomo wallet address?

Profile, Settings, Account, then scroll down past your display name and description. You will see a Solana address and an EVM address. The EVM address is the same one on Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain. Tap either to copy it. Nothing else in the app shows the address, and no third-party "wallet finder" is needed to see your own.

How do I export my private key from Fomo?

Settings, Account, Export. Read and accept the warning, slide to export, confirm with Face ID or your fingerprint if you have turned it on, and the app shows two keys: a Solana key and an EVM key. Copy the one you need and store it offline. Privy delivers the key to you unencrypted, so from that moment its safety is entirely on you.

Can I import an existing wallet into Fomo?

No. Fomo does not support importing a wallet or a private key. Every account gets a new wallet generated at sign-up. If you have funds in Phantom or MetaMask, send them to your Fomo address instead. Import works the other way: your exported Fomo key opens the same wallet inside Phantom, Backpack, MetaMask or Rabby.

Does importing my Fomo key into Phantom create a new wallet?

No. Fomo puts it plainly: you are not creating a new wallet, you are opening the same wallet in a different app. Same address, same tokens. Anything you buy in Phantom shows up in Fomo, and the Fomo login keeps working. The one thing that changes is that the key now also lives inside Phantom on that device.

Will Fomo ever ask for my private key?

Never. Nobody from Fomo will ask for it, and the help centre says outright that anyone who asks is running a scam. Support cannot see the key, cannot reset it and cannot reverse a transaction made with it. That applies to Telegram accounts, X replies, emails and any site that asks you to "verify" or "connect" your Fomo wallet.

What happens if I lose my email and Apple or Google login?

Then the exported private key is the only way back in. Fomo holds no seed phrase and has no recovery ticket, because it cannot reconstruct your key. Import the Solana key into Phantom and the EVM key into MetaMask and the funds are yours again. If you never exported the key, the wallet is gone, which is why the export belongs on day one, before the first deposit.
